River Dee

Stretching an impressive 70 miles, from Snowdonia through to Chester, the iconic River Dee is perfect for lazy afternoon strolls. Enjoy a peaceful walk alongside the river or hire out a boat for the day to see more of the beautiful landscape. If you’re looking to stay on foot and nearer to the pub, we’re also close by to The Groves. The Groves is a popular riverside walk, complete with plenty of spots to put your feet up and relax and even a bandstand that plays host to brass bands on bank holidays.


Storyhouse is Chester’s brand new £37m theatre, library, restaurant and cinema. The restored and revitalised 1930s Odeon building houses an 800-seat auditorium, a 150-seat studio theatre, a restaurant and two bars plus a 100-seat boutique, independent cinema. Alongside the building, Storyhouse run a series of festivals as well as Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, which is just a stone's throw away from our riverside location.
